  • Destiny M
    Veterinary Technician

Destiny was born and raised in California and became a registered veterinary technician after graduating from Carrington College California in 2011.  She now resides in Wichita with her husband, Colton, step-daughter, Adrien, and four dogs, Rico, Dodger, Lilly, and Chico.  While Destiny enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a particular interest in anesthesia and emergency medicine.  She also likes caring for exotic animals, including her pet rats - which are trained to fetch the paper!

  • Kayla C
    Client Care Coordinator

Kayla is a small town girl hailing from Clearwater, KS.  She always loved animals as a child, but she developed a special love for horses after learning to ride.  Now, Kayla works on breaking and training colts when she has time and perfecting her barrel racing skills on her horse, Bling.  She shares her home with her husband, Tyler, and their 2 dogs and 5 chickens.  When not caring for the menagerie of pets, Kayla can be found reading a good book or cooking up a delicious dish for everyone.

  • Michelle (Micky) S
    Veterinary Technician

Micky has been working in the veterinary field for 13 years and brings a wealth of experience to Oakcrest Pet Hospital.  Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is performing dental cleanings on pets.  She says, 'There is nothing better than scaling tartar and seeing the teeth become white again!'  Micky has a soft spot for pets with special needs and has always been dedicated to giving these pets the best lives possible.  In fact, she currently cares for her own cat, Beatle, who is completely blind.  While Beatle does well finding his way around the apartment, Micky has worked on training him and making the place more accommodating to his needs.

  • Ashley A
    Kennel Manager

Ashley's natural way with animals was apparent on her first day of work, as her gentle nature and calm voice put all the boarding pets at ease.  It didn't take long for Ashley to transition into the kennel manager and eventually oversee doggie daycare at Oakcrest Pet Hospital.  Her dedication and personal touch with the pets at Oakcrest is appreciated by all.  When not caring for the pets at the hospital, she loves spending time with her fiancé, Paden, and handsome dog, Mac, and dreaming about future trips to Iceland and Ireland.

  • Sarah W
    Veterinary Technician

Sarah grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada, but her adventurous side led her to the United States as an adult.  She met her husband, Carter, while living in the US and married him in October 2020 with a small Zoom ceremony in their home.  Together, they enjoy playing video games and caring for their 4 dogs - Mickey, Layla, Hunter, and Artemis.  While Sarah's main passion is caring for animals, she also has an artistic side to her.  She loves sewing and creating new costumes (especially for Cosplay) and catching the latest episodes in chibi animation.

  • Bethany M
    Veterinary Technician

Bethany has always had a big heart.  For many years, she volunteered her time with animal rescue organizations, including WAAL and KHS.  Her caring and helpful nature made her the perfect fit as a veterinary technician at Oakcrest Pet Hospital.  While Bethany loves all animals, she has a special love for pocket pets, as she has 4 rabbits and a rat of her own (on top of owning 2 dogs and 3 cats)!  When not caring for her own critters, Bethany enjoys scrapbooking, visiting her family in Oklahoma, and spending time with her husband, Taylor, whom she married on Halloween 2021.

  • Joanna M
    Veterinary Technician

Joanna discovered her love for animals as a child when she saved an abandoned dog on a busy road.  She said, 'It was in that moment that I knew I wanted to spend my life helping animals.'  After completing some college in El Paso, TX, Joanna decided to move to Wichita to be closer to family and finish her schooling for a veterinary technology degree.  She joined the team at Oakcrest Pet Hospital and is currently in the process of finishing her degree.  Joanna is excited about her future as she recently got engaged to her fiancé, Nick, and purchased her first home.  As if this wasn't enough, she also recently adopted 3 puppies - Sid, Marcel, and Flower - who keep her very busy!

  • Natalie G
    Veterinary Technician

Natalie's love for animals started at an early age when she asked her parents for a cow on her third birthday.  They refused to give her one, and she didn't understand why!  Years later, she was able to talk them into a pet, but she had to settle for a dog instead.  Now Natalie gets to see all kinds of animals as she works as a veterinary technician at Oakcrest Pet Hospital.  She joined the team after moving to Wichita from El Paso, TX.  She is still getting used to the cooler temperatures in Kansas, but she says she has enjoyed all the new experiences here, including getting a new dog named Marvin!

  • Emelie N
    Kennel Attendant

Emelie is a graduate of Northwest High School and now attends Newman University where she studies biology.  She has a bright mind and a love for science and nature which is why she decided to pursue biology.  Emelie recently joined the Plant Club at Newman University so she could learn more about botany and also collect 'some cool plants'!  Eventually, Emelie hopes to work in a research lab and make some contributions to science.  In the meantime, she will continue to care for her plants and all the patients at Oakcrest Pet Hospital.

  • Erin C
    Client Service Representative

Erin's smile is one of the first things you will see when you walk through the doors at Oakcrest Pet Hospital.  She is one of our Client Service Representatives, and she strives to deliver the best experience to you and your pet while at the hospital.  Erin worked in the hospitality field for many years before deciding to look for a job that combined her love for people with her love for animals.  She says, 'I always liked making people feel special.  Now I get to do the same for the pets!'  Erin has two cats of her own, Frank and Marigold, that she loves and spoils with new toys.  When she isn't entertaining them, she likes to get creative and come up with new sewing projects.

  • Courtney D
    Veterinary Technician

Courtney attended Heritage College and earned her veterinary technology degree in 2016.  She joined the team in 2020 and brought a lot of fun and humor with her.  She can be found sometimes doing crazy dances and telling funny jokes around the hospital.  In addition to her great sense of humor, Courtney has a special love for cats.  She is nicknamed the 'Cat Whisperer'  since she is able to handle some of the most fractious patients and calm them when they are most scared.  When not caring for the patients at Oakcrest, Courtney is busy taking care of her own cats and dogs and keeping up with her two daughters, Willow and Esme.

  • Haylee W
    Kennel Attendant

Haylee grew up in a military family and lived in different parts of Nebraska and Kansas.  She graduated from Andover Central High School and decided to pursue her secondary education at Wichita State University.  She is now studying history at the university with a goal of teaching at the college level in the future.  She works part time at Oakcrest Pet Hospital as a kennel attendant, caring for boarding and daycare pets.  When Haylee is not busy working or studying,  she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Hiro, and chow chow, Dee.

  • Juli S
    Client Service Representative

Juli’s tender heart and affection for animals is apparent when you meet her, but it might surprise you to learn that she grew up in a household without any pets.  It wasn’t until she got her own pets that she realized her true passion and decided to switch careers to veterinary medicine.  Juli joined Oakcrest Pet Hospital in 2022 and serves as one of our client service representatives.  She currently shares her home with her husband, George, and their four cats, but she plans on making room for more, especially if she can find an English bulldog through a rescue group.  When Juli isn’t taking care of all her furry friends, you will find her watching classic films, putting together jigsaw puzzles or playing Nintendo Switch.

  • Lydia V
    Veterinary Technician

Lydia was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA and attended San Joaquin Valley College where she earned her Veterinary Assistant Certification in 2020.  She worked a few years at a small animal veterinary hospital and acquired some additional knowledge and new skills.  In 2022, Lydia made a big decision and moved to Wichita, KS to support her boyfriend, Braden, who plays football for Friends University.  Now, the two share a home together along with their leopard gecko, Fergie, and a one-eyed French bulldog named Benny.  Lydia enjoys cheering on her boyfriend at football games and spending time cooking, coloring, and going for walks with her dog.

  • Carrie J
    Client Service Representative

Carrie’s warm, sweet personality is evident as soon as you meet her.  She has a big love for animals and a friendly smile, and she works hard to make everyone feel comfortable when they visit Oakcrest Pet Hospital.  Carrie was a client at Oakcrest before taking on the role as a client service representative in 2022.  She had been working in the cosmetology field for a number of years when she found an opportunity to pursue her passion for animals.  Carrie cares for her own 15 year-old corgi, Foxy, and enjoys spending her free time binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy, going to the lake, fishing with her husband, and going on vacations to Florida.

  • McKenzee D
    Veterinary Technician

McKenzee came from a small town in Idaho and attended Utah State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in wildlife science.  Her interest in exotic animals led her to work at unique places like Yellowstone Bear World, Utah’s Hogle Zoo, and Tanganyika Wildlife Park.  She says, “I loved the challenge of working with wildlife and being able to educate people about these creatures.” While working with the veterinarians at Tanganyika Wildlife Park, McKenzee discovered a special interest in veterinary medicine and decided to train to be a veterinary technician.  After four years of working at a small animal practice, McKenzee joined the team at Oakcrest Pet Hospital and brought an array of skills to help with our exotic animal patients.  In her free time, McKenzee enjoys walking her three birds (yes, her birds go for walks) and English mastiff and exploring the outdoors as much as possible.

  • Cassidy C
    Veterinary Assistant

Cassidy is a Wichita native who recently graduated from Heights High School.  She plans on attending WSU Tech in 2022 to pursue her degree in veterinary technology and hopefully specialize in large animal and exotic animal medicine.  She joined the staff at Oakcrest Pet Hospital to gain experience for her future career while also assisting the technicians with laboratory tests and procedures.  When Cassidy isn’t busy with school or work, she enjoys playing games with her family, watching movies with her boyfriend, and spending time with her dog, Bella.

  • Charlene (Charly) K
    Veterinary Technician

Charly grew up in Germany in a household filled with dogs and cats.  Her parents worked in the medical field so she inherited their love for science and medicine.  When Charly started working at 16 years of age, it was natural for her to be drawn to veterinary medicine which combined her love of animals with science.  It was during this time that she also discovered a love for obedience training.  In 2015, Charly moved to Kansas and began taking classes through the AKC to train dogs.  She has been training dogs ever since and says that she especially enjoys working with traumatized and rescued pets to help them rebuild trust with people.   Charly keeps very busy, especially with 9 dogs and a cat of her own.  When she finds the time, her favorite pastimes include going to the lake, spending time with her sister, and enjoying long hikes with her dogs.
